Wind and Weather
November is one of our favourite months in Langebaan. The trade winds have started so we’ll have consistent wind all week along with some possible lighter frontal winds from the north (which can give us some fun small waves to play in). And the South African summer holidays haven’t started yet so Langebaan is quiet on the water, giving us loads of space to play.
We’d expect wind from 15-25 knots each day but don’t be surprised if we get some 10-12 knots days or 25-35 knots! We’ll get plenty of wind but you do need to be prepared for a wide range of conditions if you want to make the most of your trip.
It’s slightly cooler in November, generally 20-25 degrees but long trousers and a jumper are worth having for the mornings and evenings.
Wetsuit wise, either a 4:3 or 3:2 full length is the best option, its a little early for a shorty!
Who is this clinic best suited to?
The focus for our wingfoil camps is to ensure that you gain a thorough in-depth understanding of all the manoeuvres and tricks you’re trying to learn. With that in-mind we want to make sure the group is of a similar ability.
Some of the core topics we’ll be working on include:
Tacks and gybes
Lightwind and high wind techniques
Downsizing boards and foils
Early stages of wave riding
Requirements before joining:
Must be able to comfortably ride both directions on the foil.
Able to hold ground in moderate winds.
Note:
This camp is ideal for improving foundational skills and mastering your winging. If you’re looking to focus on advanced freestyle or big wave riding, this camp might not be the best fit for you.
